The inspiration for Field Blewit Shroom Fae came as part of a planned series of edible mushrooms!  Edible, yes...but it is wise to remember that the tasty Field Blewit (also known as Blue Leg) must be cooked prior to eating!  It grows low to the ground so it is often difficult to see the beautiful pink, lilac, or violet striations of it's stem until you actually pick it.  It's cap can be 2 inches to 5 inches in diameter and is most commonly found in fields as it's name implies.  It's season is autumn through the first frosts of winter.

The Field Blewit shroom fae have a particular fondness for evening or "gloaming", that magical time when day meets night and the veil is thinnest between worlds of the human, and worlds of fae magic.  You are most apt to find them basking atop a shroom in the late rays of sunlight or early rays of moon and feeling particularly mischievous!  Don't bother trying to capture one...they are MUCH too quick despite their leisurely appearance.

As with ANY mushroom, you should never handle or consume mushrooms unless you are absolutely certain of the identity of it and it's safety to eat. And NEVER trust the recommendations of a mushroom-hunting faery who may actually wish to do you harm!
