The inspiration for Mermaiden II actually came in the form of a request by a client for me to do a commissioned piece of art for her to hang in her store, based on a previous piece of art I'd done called simply Mermaiden. The client wanted a piece done similarly, but more filled-out, floating in the sea. I was happy to accommodate her and the original now hangs in her store!
